History of Oshkosh Matv creation.
The Oshkosh, known rap fee all-terrain vehicle, or matv, is a medium combat tactical armored vehicle.
It was specifically designed for use by Us forces in Afghanistan.
It is an all-terrain armored vehicle with a 4×4 wheel configuration currently serving the Us Army.
Years of experience in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan have shown that light armored vehicles are incredibly vulnerable to enemy IEDs- improvised explosive devices.
The basic Amendment Wevs had insufficient protection, which forced the development of programs to strengthen the system.
The result was the impressive Oshkosh matv, a vehicle that combined the defensive qualities of its large four and six-wheel counterparts with the mobility of smaller vehicles.
This vehicle also proved helpful in urban combat.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine received a batch of Oshkosh matv armored vehicles from the Us Army, which belonged to the Mrap Class.
This vehicle is very suitable for city battles and the car can repel Russian soldiers in Ukrainian cities.
The exterior of Oshkosh matv-
The v-shaped bottom of the hall, protects the crew from explosions.
Punctured Wheels-
The matv can travel almost 50 kilometers.
At 50 kilometers slash with a punctured engine cooling system, hydraulic system and engine oil leakage, the vehicle can travel at least one kilometer.
The front door with double hinges opens in the usual way, while the rear door opens to the rear.
The cab has flat sides and a flat roof.
There is a turret on the top where weapons are mounted.
The vehicle has a gross vehicle weight rating of approximately 25 000 pounds- approximately eleven thousand five hundred kilograms- and a gross vehicle weight rating of 32 500 pounds- fourteen thousand seven hundred and forty two kilograms.
Despite this weight, the Oshkosh matd can be transported by C100 and 30 Hercules aircraft or ch-53 and ch-47 helicopters.
This vehicle is very tough for Ukrainian troops to use to expel Russian troops who are still in Ukrainian cities, such as the city of Bachmann.
Powerful engine: the caterpillar C7 engine Powers Oshkosh matv.
This 7.2 liter single row, six-cylinder turbo diesel engine develops up to 370 amp.
The engine is mated to a six-speed Allison 3500 Sv series automatic transmission, which has a manual ship, a system that has some elements of a manual transmission.
The suspension system is an independent 4×4 t8k4 system in which two large reinforced coil springs are mounted on the axle.
Engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case that allows the driver to switch between high and low gear ranges, depending on the terrain.
It can reach a top speed of 105 kilometers slash with a maximum cruising range of 650 kilometers.
The standard version of the matv is equipped with a remote Weapon Station- Rws- mounted on the vehicle’s roof.
The Argos can be operated from inside the car using a joystick and video monitor, and armed with various machine guns.
The engine is designed to ensure continuous operation and with stand direct fire from Small Arms up to 7.62 millimeters.
The tires are designed to withstand an additional 48 kilometers of damage thanks to an integrated dual Channel Central tire pressure system with four terrain settings.
Armament of the Oshkosh matv.
Like other all-terrain armored vehicles of this class, the Oshkosh matv is heavily armed and can adapt to the evolving needs of the mission.
The roof mounted turret can be fitted with various weapon systems from the Us Army’s Arsenal.
The Oshkosh Mapv’s design is attractive because it can be fired directly and remotely from the cockpit to protect the Gunner.
Weapon systems that can be fitted to the Oshkosh matv include the M247.62 millimeters General purpose machine gun, 1940 millimeters automatic grenade launcher and the Bgm-71 Tiobo anti-tank missile system.
